Our Home – Iraq is an independent aid group of international volunteers working in partnership with Iraqi people to improve conditions for children and families left disadvantaged by the war and occupation, particularly those living in refugee and squatter camps.

It was created by a small group of former human shields, including Donna Mulhearn, initially to respond to the issue of homeless children in Baghdad. Its work has included setting up a shelter for street-kids and a centre for traumatized children, managed by Iraqi staff.

During Donna’s last visit to Baghdad, Our Home – Iraq was able to assist hundreds of refugee families from Fallujah by providing emergency aid such as blankets, heaters, food and other essential items.

Our Home – Iraq continues to assist grassroots Iraqi organisations to run projects that support children and families throughout Iraq.
